From April 14–18, the Simply Home team hit pause on the everyday to celebrate a major milestone—12 years of designing and building better, healthier homes. To honor the occasion, the team embraced its annual Wellness Week, a cherished tradition focused on well-being, connection, and sustainability.
A Look Back at Wellness Week
Each day offered a different experience, blending relaxation, creativity, and movement to support both individual and collective wellness:
- Monday: Guided Meditation
The week began with intention as the team tuned into a 10-minute guided meditation video—cameras off, just breathing together. It was a simple, grounding way to reset and set the tone for Wellness Week. - Tuesday: Craft Day at Upstairs Circus
Creativity took center stage with a daytime DIY session at Upstairs Circus, where team members crafted their own projects—a fun and refreshing break that sparked joy and creativity. - Wednesday: Midweek Walk
A midweek walk offered a chance to step outside, reset, and enjoy a moment of fresh air—proof that even a short solo stroll can recharge the mind. - Thursday: Kayaking Adventure
Kayaking turned out to be a highlight—a fun and lighthearted way to bond, laugh, and enjoy Austin’s natural beauty. We rented kayaks from Zilker Park Boat Rentals, which made it easy to just hop on the water and soak it all in. - Friday: Sound Bath Session
We visited Casa De Luz, a peaceful spot that felt like a retreat in the middle of the city. The week wrapped up with a calming sound bath experience there, giving the team a chance to reflect, recharge, and settle into a sense of calm after all the adventure and connection.
Where Wellness Meets Sustainability
Wellness isn’t just a workplace value at Simply Home—it’s part of how we design and build. Throughout the week, we shared on social media some of the sustainable and wellness-forward practices that shape our homes and reflect our core values.
- Water Filtration Systems – Cleaner water supports better health from the inside out.
- HEPA Filtration – Upgrading HVAC systems with HEPA filters enhances indoor air quality and supports respiratory wellness.
- Natural Materials – Opting for wood, wool, and stone over synthetics reduces exposure to toxins and adds timeless beauty.
- Low VOC Paint – Creating healthy interior spaces without sacrificing design.
- Green Building Guidance – Resources like USGBC.org offer insights into eco-conscious design and building certification.
- Simply Home’s Amazon Storefront – Featuring curated tools and products for wellness at home, including HEPA filters, lead test kits, and air quality monitors.
As Simply Home enters its 13th year, the team is doubling down on its mission: to create spaces that are not only beautiful and functional, but that also promote well-being—for clients, for communities, and for the planet.
